Teachers can manage Class Rosters in a school with Class Codes enabled in one of three ways.
Using the CSV Import to create student accounts and set your class roster.
Manually creating new student accounts to set your class roster.
Providing the class code so a student can self-enroll (and create their own ExploreLearning account).
“Add Students from School Roster” will no longer be an option.
Providing a Class Code
Students will go to http://go-el.com and select "Have a Class Code?" at the bottom of the login interface.
The student will be prompted to create a new account or log in with an existing account.
If the student has not created a Gizmos account previously, then they will select "Create An Account".
The student will enter their first name, last name, grade level, username, and password.
“Try another Class Code” will return the student to the previous step to change the class code.
Username must be unique across all ExploreLearning accounts.
Student usernames must be unique across all accounts on our platform, even those not in their school or district. Students will receive an error if they provide a username that’s already tied to an existing account.
After providing the required information, the student will click “Next,” which will then create a new account and add that student to the class roster.
The student can select “Continue” which will take them directly into Gizmos.
Selecting “Download Login Card” will provide an updated login card for the student to reference during future logins to the product if needed.
Import Students
CSV will only support creating new student accounts. It cannot be used to edit or update existing student accounts.
The only required fields are First and Last Name.
Gizmos product access will be automatically granted to student accounts upon their creation.
Teachers can then provide login cards to their students.
Create New Student
Student accounts can be created manually by a teacher.
Existing student accounts in the class roster can be updated/edited by the teacher if needed.
First and Last Name and Grade are required fields.
Gizmos product access will be automatically granted to student accounts upon their creation.
Teachers can then provide login cards to their students.
