Early Access Reflex Competitions - FAQ

This Fall, we’re excited to share Early Access to Competitions for ExploreLearning’s Reflex.

Competitions allow teachers to host competitions among different classrooms in the same school building.

  • Where do I access Reflex Competitions?

    • Reflex Competitions can currently be accessed from your Account Home screen.

  • What metric is used for Competitions?

    • Currently, the metric students can compete on is Average Green Light Days.

  • How do I create a Competition?

    • To create a Competition, start by navigating to the Competitions Homepage.

  1. Select “Create New Competition

  2. Give your Competition a name

  3. Select your Start Date

  4. Select your Duration or choose from a calendar → Next

  5. Choose your Class

  6. Enter your Team Name

  7. Customize your team with an avatar and a color → Next

  8. Select the names of teachers you want to join → Next

  9. Select ‘Create Competition’

  • Who can I challenge to a Competition?

    • You can challenge any teacher at your school who has access to Reflex!

  • What’s the difference between a Class and a Team?

    • You can add a class to a competition. That class will become your team for the competition. You can customize your team by creating a fun and spirited team name. Each team can be further customized with an avatar and color theme.

  • How can I track the progress of my Competition(s)?

    • From your Reflex Reporting Dashboard you will be able to see a banner that indicates your current and recent Competitions. From this banner you’ll be able to see your team’s place in the Competition and the days remaining in active Competitions. To view more detailed information, select one of the cards.

When a Competition is in progress, you’ll be able to see a detailed class leaderboard as well as a detailed student leaderboard.

When a Competition is complete, you’ll be able to see the place your class finished in that Competition.

  • What happens if my Competition has Expired?

    • If your Competition has expired, that means that no other team joined it on the start date. Don’t worry; you can reschedule it.

  • What happens when my Competition Ends?

    • When your Competition ends, you can continue the fun by rematching your opposing team or creating a new Competition.

  • What incentives are available to my students with Reflex Competitions?

    • Certificates are available once Competitions are complete.
